I have a weird story…
And 1 very successful business
The short version:
I used to be a New York City singer and actress.
5 years ago, everything changed.
The long version:
I used to sing on cruise ships.
This is not a drill.
Starting at the age of 15, I was a professional singer/actor/dancer, performing in off-off-Broadway Maryland theatres until I moved to New York City at 18, to study with the best of the best and make my Broadway dream come true.
I did professional voiceover work for clients like Samsung, originated an off-broadway role in a brand-new musical, and toured the United States performing as a proud member of the USO Show Troupe, complete with retro sequined outfits.
And I loved it.
Then I landed a job in Europe and everything changed.
I spent a total of 16 months traveling the world on a giant floating ship, waking up in a new country every day, and singing ABBA songs on a massive stage for thousands of Germans. (What can I say? The sequins love me.)
I started a blog about my adventures… which led to an opportunity as a travel blogger… which led to a copywriting job… which led to managing communications for international influencers… which led us to here. Today. And now.
5 years ago I completely changed careers and went from a professional performer to a professional Googler.
Communication became my superpower and copywriting unlocked doors all over the world for me.
I became obsessed with using my communication skills to overcome my imposter syndrome for starting a new career 5 years behind everyone else (at the absolutely ancient age of 26…).
I spent my late 20s working for progressive, European startups, helping them nail their communications for both influencers and customers, finding my voice as a millennial marketer.
And in 2022, Emily Claire & Co. was born.
Emily Claire & Co. is everything that I, Emily, aspire to be.
It’s creative. It’s witty. And it’s filled with powerful communication ready to help you, your brand, and your customers, stare at your business with the same awe as 16-year-old Emily stepping foot on a Broadway stage for the first time.
